Legal Hold Checks

Before any deletion begins, FOCTTA checks for active litigation holds on the grievance. If a hold exists, erasure is automatically blocked — preventing regulatory violations.

Erasure Certificates

Generate signed PDF certificates documenting which systems erased data, which retained it (with reasons), who confirmed, and when. Stored in S3 with WORM (Write Once Read Many) protection.

Retention Justification

When a system cannot delete data (e.g., tax records require 7-year retention), the operator must provide a mandatory retention reason. This reason is included in the certificate.
